About the Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, monitoring, and implementing all aspects of our global networks. Your focus will be on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our proprietary trading systems through automation and prototyping of new designs and implementations. We are looking for a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, who is driven to provide technical and intellectual solutions to business challenges. An interest in finance and a good understanding of effective design in trading networks are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and enhance multi-environment global networks, including planning and executing maintenance, redundancy, and expansion objectives.
Provide technical thought leadership in developing our next-generation networks.
Monitor and improve network performance, scalability, and latency through benchmark evaluations, lab evaluations, and capacity planning reviews.
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues using technical knowledge, tenacity, creativity, and team collaboration.
Design and create solutions for automation, deployments, and diagnostics.
Work with vendors to evaluate and prototype new devices and designs.
Skills and Experience Required:
Over 7 years of experience in the network engineering field.
Demonstrated expertise in supporting latency-sensitive global networks.
Experience in planning and leading complex network projects involving the design, configuration, and implementation of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, load balancers, security, and VPN appliances.
Expert-level knowledge of dynamic routing protocol tuning.
Strong working knowledge and experience with multicast.
Understanding of EVPN VxLAN for creating overlay/underlay networks.
Experience in supporting Internet infrastructure, including site-to-site VPNs and firewalls.
Proficiency in designing, building, and managing layer 1 network devices.
Exposure to RF network design with a solid understanding of its fundamentals.
In-depth understanding of the TCP/IP network stack and the ability to troubleshoot network issues using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
Strong scripting and automation skills; proficiency in Python and Ansible is strongly preferred.
Prior experience in finance or trading domains is preferred.
