Our client is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join their Compliance team based in London. As a pivotal member of their development team, you will leverage your expert communication skills and technical proficiency to interface directly with business stakeholders, delivering solutions ranging from small-scale tools to large-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering solutions for the Compliance team while also supporting existing Operations and COO infrastructure.
- Developing tooling for automating processes and optimising workflows.
- Taking ownership of data sources, creating reports, and building dashboards for enhanced decision-making.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the Compliance team, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Leading multiple initiatives, advising on efficiency and optimisation, and supporting global projects.
- Making critical decisions on design frameworks and ensuring consistency across development efforts.
- Continuously integrating systems and building tools from scratch where necessary.
- Providing output analytics, including reporting and data visualisation, to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of development experience, with a focus on writing high-quality, testable code.
- Proficiency in Python and core libraries such as Pandas and Numpy.
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience working with databases for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Dash, or similar.
- Ability to lead projects and effectively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience designing frameworks and tools from scratch, with a focus on impact assessment.
- Data-oriented mindset with the ability to handle large, detailed datasets efficiently.
- Solid understanding of business and financial industry principles, with exposure to various asset classes.
- Experience working with hedge fund Compliance teams and regulatory projects is advantageous.
- Knowledge of modern software architecture and cloud platforms.
