Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Portfolio Manager with a robust background in the commodities/energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing a portfolio of renewable energy assets, developing strategies to maximize returns while managing risk. This is a fully on-site position in Amsterdam, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement portfolio management strategies for renewable energy commodities.
- Monitor and optimize portfolio performance to achieve targeted returns and risk objectives.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify investment opportunities and market trends.
- Collaborate with quantitative analysts and traders to develop and refine investment strategies.
- Manage risk effectively by employing advanced risk management techniques and tools.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports and investment updates to senior management.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes, market developments, and emerging trends in the renewable energy sector.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Portfolio Manager in the commodities/energy sector.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy markets and investment practices.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing portfolios.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative models and data analysis.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master's or MBA) are preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with financial instruments and derivatives used in the energy markets.
- Familiarity with portfolio management software and risk management systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable investment practices and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria.
