About the Team
The HR Compliance and Governance team (HRCG) focuses on legal and regulatory requirements for human resources, including cross-border travel compliance, cooperation with employee representative bodies, and setting up new hiring entities outside of China. HRCG ensures compliance with regional labor and employment laws during global business development and addresses compliance and governance issues related to people and organization.
Responsibilities
- Works Council Strategy Formulation: Collaborate with global business stakeholders, employment legal teams, and HR teams to develop and implement works council strategies and initiatives. Identify critical topics in works council management and develop communication strategies. Research new trends and best practices in works council policies and processes.
- Partnership Building and Works Council Communications: Participate in meetings with works councils, establish trusting relationships with regional leadership and works council members, and lead/support key negotiations. Prepare documents and reports to communicate with works councils on employee concerns.
- Professional Support to Business and HR Teams: Advise business leaders and HRBPs on works council and co-determination issues. Handle questions of co-determination and labor law. Develop HR compliance training programs as needed.
- Cross-Functional Network Collaboration: Collaborate with global cross-functional teams on HR and works council projects. Assist in implementing global/regional HR projects as the EMEA regional coordinator.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fluent in German, as the role requires regular communication with German markets.
- Experience in Labor Relations, Employee Relations, HR Business Partner, and/or HR Generalist roles.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, mediation, and strategic writing skills.
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in employment legal and employee relations/industrial relations, especially with works councils.
- Good understanding of industrial relations, employee social dialogue, and employment legal trends; basic understanding of labor laws in the EMEA region.
