About the Role
Our client, a leading global investment banking group, is seeking an experienced IT Audit VP to join their Birmingham team. This role will be responsible for leading and executing complex IT audit engagements, ensuring technology risks are effectively managed in line with regulatory and internal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of IT audits, focusing on technology processes, vendor risk management, and payment systems.
- Risk & Compliance: Assess IT risks, internal controls, and governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Cloud & Emerging Tech: Evaluate cloud computing environments, security controls, and the effectiveness of cloud risk management strategies.
- Data Analytics: Leverage data analysis techniques to enhance audit efficiency, identify anomalies, and provide insights into IT risk areas.
- Vendor Risk Management: Assess third-party relationships, ensuring vendors meet security, resilience, and compliance expectations.
- Business Continuity & Resilience: Review disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks, ensuring operational resilience across critical systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior technology leaders, risk committees, and business units to provide audit insights and recommendations.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with global financial regulations and internal IT governance policies.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in IT audit, risk management, or cybersecurity within financial services, preferably in investment banking.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in data analysis, business continuity, vendor risk management, and payment systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, and PCI-DSS.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex IT risks and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage with senior executives and IT teams.
