Selby Jennings has partnered with a Multi Billion dollar Bank that is seeking a Fixed Income Trader to add to the team. This individual will be responsible for executing trades across various fixed income products, optimizing portfolio strategies, and managing risk within the fixed income sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bond markets, trading protocols, and regulations, with a proven ability to provide exceptional execution in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trades in a variety of fixed income instruments
- Monitor market developments and trends, including interest rates and economic data, to identify opportunities and risks within the fixed income market.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts to understand investment strategies and align trade execution accordingly.
- Actively manage trade orders, including initiating, processing, and confirming transactions in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage portfolio risk, market liquidity, and trade settlement processes, ensuring all trades are executed accurately and within pre-established guidelines.
- Provide market color, pricing, and liquidity assessments to support decision-making by the investment team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, dealers, and counterparties to ensure access to liquidity and market intelligence.
- Contribute to the overall investment process by providing insights on market conditions and potential impact on portfolio performance.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards, maintaining accurate and timely trade documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in fixed income trading, ideally within a bank or asset manager.
- Strong knowledge of fixed income products, market dynamics, and trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Tradeweb).
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess risk, execute trades efficiently, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate market insights and trading rationale to both internal and external stakeholders.
