As the Credit Risk Model Validation Manager, you will play a critical role in the Model Risk Management function, responsible for independently validating the models. You will have the chance to assess, test, and analyze our Wholesales IRB and IFRS9 models, ensuring their accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- The role of the Credit Risk Model Validation is crucial in the Model Risk Management function, as it involves independently validating the models used by the Bank.
- Responsible for assessing, testing, and analyzing the Wholesales IRB and IFRS9 models, identifying any deficiencies in their development, conducting validation tests, and discussing the findings with senior stakeholders.
- Writing validation reports, managing model risk on an ongoing basis, and proposing improvements to the models.
- The validation process includes both qualitative and quantitative assessments, which involve reviewing the model development process, including underlying assumptions and theoretical basis, and evaluating the model's performance through data analysis and statistical testing.
- Document the validation findings, communicate the results to senior management, and present them to relevant committees.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders is necessary to address model issues and reach suitable resolutions.
- Responsible for completing the end-to-end model validation within the planned timelines and required standards.
- The review of models will align with local regulatory requirements and industry practices.
- Participate in the country model fitness attestation for credit risk models.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in model validation, preferably within the banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk models and regulatory frameworks (e.g., IRB, PD, LGD, IFRS9).
- Proficiency in conducting qualitative and quantitative assessments of models.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Collaborative nature with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and industry standards.
