Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Actuarial Manager to join our team. As a key member of the actuarial department, you will leverage your expertise in pricing, forecasting, and risk management to provide valuable insights and support the strategic decision-making process. The ideal candidate will hold an FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) or ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) designation and have a proven track record of success in an actuarial role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of actuarial analysts and junior actuaries. Provide coaching and development opportunities to foster technical skills and career growth. - Loss Reserving:
Supervise and contribute to the development of loss reserves. Apply actuarial methods to estimate ultimate losses and ensure proper reserve adequacy for the company's liabilities. - Data Analysis & Modeling:
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, develop predictive models, and derive actionable insights. Work closely with data science and analytics teams to enhance the sophistication of actuarial models. - Financial Reporting & Forecasting:
Prepare detailed actuarial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulators, and auditors. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial forecasts and other key actuarial deliverables. - Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with relevant actuarial standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Stay current on industry trends, emerging risks, and actuarial practices. - Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
Partner with underwriters, product development teams, and senior management to provide actuarial insights on pricing strategies, product design, and business planning. - Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement of actuarial processes, including automation, efficiency, and accuracy of pricing, reserving, and reporting systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Professional Designation:
- FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) or ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society).
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in actuarial roles within the insurance industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership position.
- Extensive experience with loss reserving, and risk management.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in statistical modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.
- Strong Excel and database skills. Familiarity with actuarial software such as AXIS, Prophet, or similar platforms.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate actuarial findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
